Hello fellow bird watchers and wildlife fact collecting friends,
You know what's great about animals? Everything!
Wildlife artists love to show us how beautiful and amazing animals really, really art through their art!
And good news... that is what we are doing this September in our Wildlife artist class!
One artist that is SUPER famous for his absolutely AH-MAZING wildlife art is Robert Bateman.
And guess what? ... once we even got to interview Robert Bateman!
Mr Bateman was once a teacher before he became a full time artist!
He said he still feels like he is teaching all the time, he gives a lot of lectures and some of them are about art and some of them about environmental issues.
THE BIG ISSUE
The famous Canadian 🇨🇦 wildlife artist big issue now is that there’s been a huge change in the last 20 years and the average young person in North America spends 7 hours everyday, seven days a week, staring at a screen of some sort. Bateman thinks kids need to get our into nature and to make things!
AND...
Robert Bateman even said he really likes how we are teaching art! (which made us feel really good!)
"I taught for 20 years and I paid attention to teenagers and what was going on in education. I think that every kid should take art. I think art helps kids' brains a lot, especially in the early years. I also think everybody should take Art History because it teaches you not only about the art, but about culture."
So yeah, that's cool! 😎👏
We are proud to offer a place where kids can learn about creativity, critical thinking, interaction, culture and art!
Check out a few questions and answers from the interview below!

Here's what we are making in our Wildlife artist 6 week session:
Cedar Heart Farms opens July 1st! 🌸
The last 5 days have been a whirlwind of fun!
It has been such a joy and learning experience to have Rainbow Rin from 4Cats Leaside, Kyra from 4Cats The Beaches, Messy Jessy from 4Cats Victoria & Brenna from 4Cats The Glebe in Ottawa at the farm for a company mini retreat!
Our first official visitors to the farm!
Unfortunately the flowers are just starting to get buds but maybe they can come back in the summer and see the farm in it's full flowering glory!
5 days full of business alignment, art, walking, hiking, beach combing, mountain climbing and a visit to the Saturday Morning market. What a memorable experience!
Scroll the pics below for a peek into the week! Youtube video coming soon!

My favourite experience was making a lucky cat pencil holder several years ago. I really enjoyed creating something that was a part of my cultural background. My studio is Whitby, ON.
My favourite experience was making clay owl mugs with one of my friends. Oak Bay is my closest 4Cats location.
I love the Independence the winter break classes at Calgary Edgedale gave my 2 kids they were so proud of their projects.
My favorite experience at 4CATS (Main street, Vancouver) has been the Mommy and Tot class I did with my son. The classes were very organized and gave the tots a lot they could do with our help.
Fave 4 cats experience was my 8 year old daughter coming home from Spring Break camp at the Waterloo studio (our closest) with a cat painting that we all thought was spectacular. She was so proud of it (rightfully) that she took down a professional artist print we had hanging on living room wall and put up her painting. It still has pride of place in our living room. :)
Really enjoyed the clay wheel class!
